Canada Week 51: The Canadian Adventures Continue

Hello hello!  I hope everyone had a splendid week. My companion and I had a great week!  It's starting to get a little chilly here in Canada as the Fall season is getting closer, but the sun still shines.  It's interesting to realize how my perception of good, great or amazing has changed over time on my mission.  I used to think my week was great IF we had appointments or taught a lot of lessons or this or that, but now my weeks and days are great simply because I am a representative of Jesus Christ.  They are great because I have the opportunity to be His missionary at this moment in time.  My day or week is great because the sun shines!  My week is great because my companion and I laugh constantly, that I have good studies, and positive interactions with others and so many more things!

I have realized that it is more about the simple things and the little tender mercies that make everything worth it.  Sometimes I feel we can as get caught up in this idea of everything needing to be big and grand, but it is much less than that.  Whether it is creating a memory, needing an answer to prayer, or seeking revelation about decisions we are making.  Revelation in life is often very small and very simple.  One of my favorite videos in the gospel libray is found in the section "His Grace," entitled "Faith Crisis, What Do We Do When We Feel Nothing."  This video explains that answers don't just come from inside the box in a certain way, but that they can come from outside the box and in small individual ways.  This happens because God knows us individually and perfectly.  This week I was reading in Helaman 10.  I loved the message in Come Follow Me of "Pondering brings Revelation."  Something that has always stood out to me is remembering to sit and listen after I pray, and to ponder the words of the scriptures and the small thoughts I have while reading.  Nephi, Helaman's son, is pondering what the Lord had shown Him.  He received more revelation and obeyed the Lord's command to again go out and preach the word!  I absolulty love learning from examples in the scriptures.  I love the scriptures!

This past week we were able to teach some awesome lessons and have lots of positive interactions with people.  We enjoyed some awesome walks and found a couple new friends to meet with.  We also were blessed to help with a service project this week.  As always, it was so fun to meet with the members and witness how grateful they were for our help.  It sure brings my little heart a lot of joy for each opportunity to help others!

Crazy amazing story time:  This past week my companion and I figured out that we were at the Logan Temple at the same time last summer.  I was there for my brother's wedding and she was there for another wedding.  I ended up being in the background of one of her photos!  Talk about God being in the details!  Who would've known a year later we would be companions on a mission in Canada?!  I love the small, intricate details of the Lord and His plan.  I love witnessing His tender mercies unfold

My testimony - as always - remains on the simple side.  I know God is GOOD and that He is ALWAYS there for His children.  I know that He is constantly reaching out to us, and that it is our choice to say no and push Him away.  I know He wants what is best for us and He will guide us there.  I know He loves each of YOU!  I hope and pray that you can see Him in all the small things around you - because He is there!

I love and miss you all!  I wish you all the best and hope you have an amazing week!
